Service User Information

ECR works to a person-centred, user-led model of service delivery. Under the Personalisation agenda, we can provide you with a range of direct Services that can be funded through budgets such as Direct Payments and Personal Budgets or paid for privately. We carry out our own CQC compliant assessments, risk assessments, produce support plans and carry out regular reviews. We also offer brokering facilities and payroll facilities if you chose to employ your own support workers.

At Ethical Care we tailor our support and services around the individual whereby they retain choice and control over what support/services they access from us and when. At ECR we will sit down with individuals and families to think about how their needs will be met, carry out home visit, planning meeting or assessments. We provide information about what is available and how we can help.

ECR workers will help service users overcome barriers such as disability, mobility, language and access a range of community services which would include transport, leisure, health, housing advice and other community services. Individuals are supported to develop their own plan wherever possible by enabling them to look at their needs and what choice of services they have. We ensure all our work fits within CQC's Essential Standards for Quality and Safety.

Understanding the different terms:

Assessment - An assessment is where you answer questions about the outcomes you want to achieve. The answers you give will be used to calculate the amount of money for your Personal Budget.

Broker - A broker can be a carer, volunteer or a trained professional who will help you to write a support plan based on the personal goals and outcomes you hope to achieve. The broker will then help you to put this plan into action.

Direct Payments - Direct Payments are a cash sum to spend on your care and support. Direct Payments are a good option for people who want to be responsible for managing and spending their own Personal Budget.

Indirect Payment - An Indirect Payment means that the money you are entitled to for your care and support will be spent on your behalf by the Council or another responsible third party. If you do not want the responsibility of handling the money yourself, an Indirect Payment will be a good option.

Personal Budget / Individual Budget - A Personal Budget or Individual Budget is the amount of money that you will be entitled to for your care and support, regardless of whether you have the money as a Direct Payment or an Indirect Payment. You can choose to spend your Personal Budget on the type of support you think will work best for you.

Self-Directed Support (SDS) - SDS is a new way of delivering social care that will give you choice and control over the care and support you get.
